2025
Our trip began in Bayeux, France. We stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast owned by the most lovely couple: Le Clois de la Croix. A little pricy but the gardens in the front and back are gorgeous, everything is within walking distance, and the owners are amazing. Only negative? They lock the heat in the room because the electricity gets so expense so bring an extra blanket or some warm clothes if traveling in the cooler weather.

We visited Mont St Michel and toured the inside ourselves. It’s truly beautiful and has a lot of really majestic architecture.

Our next day was the World War II Memorial in Normandy (and a couple of smaller museums in Normandy.) Americans, if you want to be humbled, visit the cemetery and realize how many people died fighting for freedom there. It’s truly humbling and a solemn but beautiful place to visit.

We even saw a Notre Dame (not THE Notre Dame) cathedral in Bayeux.

On the way to Bruges, we went to Jardins de Claude Monet and I cannot recommend this place enough. It was truly magical, gorgeous, and a must see.

Our next stop was in Bruges, Belgium. I can honestly say it was a big crowded but beautiful scenery and great beer.

Next we drove to the Netherlands and stopped in Utretcht. We visited a really cool museum (Centraal Museum).

Then, it was off to Keukenhoff the Next day. Very, very crowded. Beautiful but extremely crowded.

Zaanse Schans is a great place to get to see the classic windmills in the Netherlands.

We also visited the Rijksmuseum.
